UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2541 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 4/10/2024 1:37 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Anita 1 Claire Templeton Thornton. 2 WHEREAS, Anita Thornton was born on August 13, 1934, in Holly Springs, 3 Mississippi; and 4 WHEREAS, after graduating high school, Anita Thornton attended Murray State 5 University; and 6 WHEREAS, Anita Thornton married Will D. Thornton and the couple made their 7 home in Murray, Kentucky; and 8 WHEREAS, Anita Thornton was a homemaker, taking pride in supporting her 9 husband, raising their children, and adoring their grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, Anita Thornton loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of First 12 Baptist Church of Murray where she attended the Judy Ingersoll "Magic" Sunday School 13 Class; and 14 WHEREAS, Anita Thornton passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 89. She 15 was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Maurice Emerson Templeton and Clara 16 Velora Hastings Templeton; brothers, Bubba Templeton and Jack Templeton; and sons-17 in-law, Brad Barnett and James Wright; and 18 WHEREAS, Anita Thornton is survived by her daughters, Sheri Wright, Becky 19 Brown, and DeAnn Barnett; son, Will Downs Thornton; sister, Sharon (Brooks) 20 Lammey; sister-in-law, Janice Thornton; brothers, Charles Templeton and Joe (Lynn) 21 Templeton; grandchildren, Bethany (Aaron) Edwards, Kathryn (Nathan) Thomas, Hunter 22 (Emily) Brown, Tyler (Carley) Brown, Claire (Tanner) Wyatt, and Faith Thornton; and 23 great-grandchildren, AnnaClaire Marie Edwards, Emerson Kay Edwards, Palmer Lou 24 Edwards, Hastings Marie Thomas, William Wright Thomas, Clayton Patrick Thomas, 25 Adalynn Rae Brown, Lennie Louise Brown, Radley James Brown, Kason Dale Wyatt, 26 and Callen Bradley Wyatt; and future great-grandchild, Annie Mae Wyatt; 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2541 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 4/10/2024 1:37 PM Jacketed NOW, THEREFORE, 1 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 2 Kentucky: 3 Section 1. The members of the Senate do hereby express their most profound 4 sympathy upon the passing of Anita Claire Templeton Thornton. 5 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 6 memory of Anita Claire Templeton Thornton. 7 Section 3.
