Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 3

Section 1. Senate Rule 4 is amended to read as follows: 5
Rule 4. Order of Business. The order of business shall be as follows: 6

2. Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag and the Commonwealth of 8
Kentucky flag 9

4. Approval of the Journal 11
5. Second Reading of Bills 12
6. Report of Committees 13
7. First Reading of Bills 14
8. Introduction of Guests, Memorial Resolutions, Motions, and Citations 15
9. Introduction of New Bills and Resolutions 16
10. Orders of the Day 17
11. Meetings of the Committee on Committees and Rules Committee 18
12. Report of Committees 19
13. Motions, Petitions, Communications, and Announcements 20
14. Introduction of Floor Amendments 21
15. Introduction of New Bills and Resolutions 22
16. Adjournment 23
No more than thirty minutes shall be allotted to Introduction of Guests, Memorial 24
Resolutions, Motions, and Citations. During this order of business, priority shall be given 25
to memorial resolutions with family in attendance to be honored with their adoption, 26

Chamber, and motions necessary for the proper operation of the Senate. During this order 1
of business, the Senate President may, should there be sufficient time, permit Senators to 2
communicate with other members. All other resolutions shall be in order during the order 3
of business Motions, Petitions, Communications, and Announcements. 4
Section 2. Senate Rule 49 is amended to read as follows: 5
Rule 49. Procedure in Committee. The rules of procedure in the Senate shall be 6
observed in committee insofar as the same are applicable. If the pledge of allegiance to 7
the United States flag is recited in a committee meeting, then the pledge of allegiance to 8
the flag of the Commonwealth of Kentucky shall also be recited. 9
