A RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Kiro John Yun for being named President of the 1
Federation of Midwest Korean American Associations. 2
WHEREAS, Dr. Kiro John Yun, a resident of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, has 3
practiced otolaryngology as an ENT physician and surgeon for over 30 years. A proud 4
graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, he completed his residency at 5
West Virginia University; and 6
WHEREAS, Dr. Kiro John Yun has provided exceptional otolaryngological care for 7
patients at Heartland ENT & Allergy Center, Baptist Health Hardin, and Baptist Health 8
Surgery Center Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, with expertise in endocrine surgical 9
procedures, otologic conditions and procedures, and upper respiratory conditions; and 10
WHEREAS, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, Dr. Kiro John Yun was inaugurated as 11
President of the Federation of Midwest Korean American Associations; and 12
WHEREAS, the Federation of Midwest Korean American Associations is a 13
nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Korean Americans and to protecting their 14
rights, interests, and well-being while promoting cultural exchange and cooperation 15
between Korea and the United States; and 16
WHEREAS, as president, Dr. Kiro John Yun will have the honor of representing 17
400,000 Korean Americans across a 13-state jurisdiction; and 18
WHEREAS, Dr. Kiro John Yun's election to the office of President coincides with 19
the 70th anniversary of the alliance between the United States and South Korea and the 20
120th anniversary of the Korean immigration to the United States; and 21
WHEREAS, Dr. Kiro John Yun has consistently demonstrated his commitment to 22
working with community leaders and elected officials on behalf of the Federation and its 23
members; and 24
WHEREAS, this body honors Dr. Kiro John Yun on this day for his years of 25
excellent service as an otolaryngological physician, his extraordinary skill, and his 26
dedication to his patients and members of the Korean American community, and grants 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 370

him best wishes as President of the Federation of Midwest Korean American 1
Associations as he continues to work to improve the lives of both Kentuckians and 2
Korean Americans; 3
NOW, THEREFORE, 4
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 5
Kentucky: 6
Section 1. The Senate hereby commends Dr. Kiro John Yun upon being named 7
the President of the Federation of Midwest Korean American Associations and grants 8
him best wishes as he continues to cultivate and strengthen the relationship between 9
Korea and the United States. 10
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Dr. Kiro 11
John Yun. 12
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 13
Resolution to Senator Matthew Deneen for delivery. 14
