A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in recognition and celebration of Jack 1 
Wolf. 2 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and a graduate of Saint 3 
Xavier High School; and 4 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf and his wife, Laurie, are the founders and managing 5 
partners of Starlight Racing, a premier Thoroughbred organization which has produced 6 
seven Eclipse Awards, a Hall of Fame inductee, a Kentucky Oaks winner, three Breeder's 7 
Cup World Championship trophies, 101 stakes victories, an accumulated 33 Grade 1 8 
wins, and most historically, two Kentucky Derby winners, Justify in 2018 who went on to 9 
claim the Triple Crown, and Authentic in 2020; and 10 
WHEREAS, in 2011, Jack Wolf's high regard for the Thoroughbred industry led 11 
him to orchestrate the launch of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, establishing for the 12 
first time in history a broad-based initiative dedicated to helping retired Thoroughbreds, 13 
and to assume the Alliance's first presidency before serving on its board of directors for 14 
many years; and 15 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf accepted a special Eclipse Award on behalf of the Alliance 16 
in 2015; and 17 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf is a past board member of Thoroughbred Charities of 18 
America and Race for Education; and 19 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf received the Warner L. Jones Horseman of the Year award 20 
in 2013 in recognition of his numerous contributions to the sport; and 21 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf was appointed chief executive officer of the inaugural 22 
Pegasus World Cup in 2017; and 23 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf currently serves on the board of the Thoroughbred Idea 24 
Foundation, a nonprofit aiming to improve the Thoroughbred racing industry for all 25 
stakeholders; and 26 
WHEREAS, Jack and Laurie Wolf founded StarLadies Racing in 2013, a unique 27  UNOFFICIAL COPY  	24 RS BR 1737

Thoroughbred partnership matching only female partners with fillies; and 1 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf expanded his endeavors into the international arena in 2020 2 
with the launch of Starlight Australia; and 3 
WHEREAS, Jack Wolf is a proud alumnus of Murray State University, having 4 
received his Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1971 and his Master of Science in 5 
Economics in 1973, while becoming a prominent student athlete on campus, lettering in 6 
football and joining Sigma Chi fraternity; and 7 
WHEREAS, in 2014, Jack Wolf was awarded Murray State University's 8 
Distinguished Alumnus Award, the highest honor given to any alumnus of the university; 9 
NOW, THEREFORE, 10 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 11 
Kentucky: 12 
Section 1.   The Senate hereby expresses its pride in the legacy of Jack Wolf, a 13 
pioneering Kentuckian. 14 
Section 2.   When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in recognition and 15 
celebration of Jack Wolf and his considerable achievements in the Thoroughbred racing 16 
industry throughout the Commonwealth and beyond. 17 
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 18 
Resolution to Senator Jason Howell for delivery. 19
