UNOFFICIAL COPY 25 RS BR 1903 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 2/18/2025 10:35 AM Jacketed A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION supporting the AM Radio for Every Vehicle 1 Act of 2025. 2 WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky recognizes the longstanding tradition 3 and importance of AM radio in providing essential information, entertainment, and 4 emergency alerts to citizens nationwide; and 5 WHEREAS, the federal AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act of 2025, introduced as 6 Senate Bill 315 during the 119th Congress, underscores the significance of AM radio by 7 ensuring that everyone has access to diverse content, including but not limited to news, 8 weather, agricultural updates, emergency preparedness, and the promotion of public 9 safety; and 10 WHEREAS, Kentucky residents, especially those in rural communities where 11 access to alternative media sources may be limited, depend on AM radio for this type of 12 essential information; and 13 WHEREAS, the Kentucky agriculture industry plays a crucial role in the state's 14 economy, and AM radio serves as its primary source for agriculture news, market reports, 15 and weather updates, and is thus a major contributor to the growth, stability, and 16 resilience of this vital economic sector; and 17 WHEREAS, the inclusion of AM radio in vehicles is indispensable for the 18 continued provision of vital information to rural residents and the agriculture industry and 19 for the cultural and historical preservation of the medium that has been a reliable 20 companion to drivers for decades; 21 NOW, THEREFORE, 22 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 23 Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Senate concurring therein: 24 Section 1. The Kentucky General Assembly urges the federal government to 4 ensure continued accessibility to AM radio in vehicles through the passage of the AM 5 Radio for Every Vehicle Act of 2025 and policies that maintain its crucial role. 6 Section 4. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 7 copy of this Resolution to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the 8 Majority Leader of the United States Senate, and each member of the Kentucky 9 congressional delegation. 10
