A JOINT RESOLUTION relating to contingent appropriations. 1
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the General Assembly to monitor the 2
spending of state funds for the good of the Commonwealth; and 3
WHEREAS, with that responsibility in mind, certain appropriations were 4
contingent upon specific duties being fulfilled by the receiving agency; and 5
WHEREAS, 2024 Ky. Acts ch. 223, sec. 64 requires the Department of Agriculture 6
to submit a proposal to the Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations and Revenue by 7
December 1, 2024; and 8
WHEREAS, the Department of Agriculture has submitted that proposal; 9
NOW, THEREFORE, 10
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 11
ď˘Section 1. The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hereby 12
approves and authorizes the Office of State Budget Director to release General Fund 13
moneys from the Budget Reserve Trust Fund Account established in KRS 48.705 in the 14
amount of $5,000,000 in fiscal year 2025-2026 to the Department of Agriculture budget 15
unit to support economic development initiatives within the agriculture industry as 16
appropriated by 2024 Ky. Acts ch. 223, sec. 64. 17
