Crowley was an esteemed citizen of this Commonwealth. He 3 was the cherished husband of Pam Crowley; beloved father to Shayna (Max) Neverman 4 and Conor Crowley; and beloved grandfather to Bennett, Bodhi, and Sloane; and 5 WHEREAS, Patrick J. Crowley served for 27 years as a highly respected journalist, 6 including 16 years as a writer and columnist for The Cincinnati Enquirer. He covered 20 7 sessions of the Kentucky General Assembly and the administrations of six Kentucky 8 Governors; and 9 WHEREAS, in addition to his many professional achievements, Patrick J. Crowley 10 cared for rescue animals, served as a longtime youth athletics coach, generously 11 volunteered for numerous charitable groups, and spoke regularly at various business, 12 political, and civic events throughout Northern Kentucky; and 13 WHEREAS, this body holds in highest esteem those Kentuckians who have made 14 significant contributions to their communities, and in this spirit the members wish to 15 posthumously honor Patrick J. Crowley, who passed away on December 28, 2024, 16 publicly and permanently for his decades of service to the citizens of Northern Kentucky; 17 NOW, THEREFORE, 18 Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 19 Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate United States Route 27 in 20 Campbell County, commonly known as Monmouth Street and Alexandria Pike, from 21 Fifth Street in Newport to Highland Avenue in Fort Thomas, as the "Patrick J. Crowley 22 Memorial Parkway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, 23 erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. This designation shall supersede any 24 previous honorary designation for this section of highway. 25
