A JOINT RESOLUTION designating the Donald V. Horne Memorial Bridge in 1
Floyd County. 2
WHEREAS, Donald V. Horne was born November 4, 1946, in Lackey, Kentucky, 3
to the late Woodrow and Clarice Meadows Horne; and 4
WHEREAS, Donald V. Horne served in the United States Army during the 5
Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion; and 6
WHEREAS, after his military service, Donald V. Horne returned home to Lackey, 7
where he married his loving wife, Freeda, with whom he had two daughters, Rhonda and 8
Tonya; and 9
WHEREAS, Donald V. Horne was a businessman who owned Right Beaver Ready 10
Mix; and 11
WHEREAS, Donald V. Horne was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garrett 12
and the Garrett DAV Chapter 128; and 13
WHEREAS, the Floyd County Fiscal Court has expressed its sentiment that a 14
memorial bridge honoring Donald V. Horne be designated in Floyd County; 15
NOW, THEREFORE, 16
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 17
ď˘Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the bridge on Kentucky 18
Route 550 in Floyd County, at mile point 0.073 over the Right Fork of Beaver Creek 19
(Bridge number 036B00017N), as the "Donald V. Horne Memorial Bridge" and shall, 20
within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting 21
this designation. 22
