A JOINT RESOLUTION authorizing the release of funds. 1
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the General Assembly to monitor the 2
spending of state funds for the good of the Commonwealth; and 3
WHEREAS, with that responsibility in mind, certain appropriations were 4
contingent upon approval of the General Assembly; and 5
WHEREAS, 2024 Ky. Acts ch. 175, Part I, J., 4., (4) requires the approval of the 6
General Assembly; 7
NOW, THEREFORE, 8
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 9
Section 1. The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hereby 10
approves and authorizes the Office of State Budget Director to release capital 11
construction funds for the Design Health Sciences Center project at Kentucky State 12
University in accordance with 2024 Ky. Acts ch. 175, Part I, J., 4., (4). 13
Section 2. On or before November 1, 2025, Kentucky State University, in 14
collaboration with the Council on Postsecondary Education, shall submit to the Interim 15
Joint Committee on Appropriations and Revenue a comprehensive business plan for the 16
Design Health Sciences Center project, including how the new facility fits in the 17
Kentucky State University business plan for facilities and academics as well as how the 18
project will work within and supplement the current health science programs of the 19
Commonwealth's university systems. 20
