A RESOLUTION confirming the appointment of Derrick Giles Helm to the 1
Western Kentucky University Board of Regents. 2
WHEREAS, on July 11, 2024, in accordance with KRS 164.321 and by virtue of 3
Executive Order 2024-484, Governor Andy Beshear appointed Derrick Giles Helm to the 4
Western Kentucky University Board of Regents to replace Linda Ball for a term expiring 5
June 30, 2030; and 6
WHEREAS, the appointment is subject to Senate confirmation; and 7
WHEREAS, Derrick Giles Helm has been determined to meet the requirements of 8
KRS 164.321; 9
NOW, THEREFORE, 10
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 11
Kentucky: 12
Section 1. The Senate hereby confirms the appointment of Derrick Giles Helm 13
to the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents. 14
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate shall forward a copy of this Resolution and 15
notification of its adoption to Derrick Giles Helm of Jamestown, Russell County, 16
Kentucky, and to Governor Andy Beshear, State Capitol, Room 100, Frankfort, Kentucky 17
