UNOFFICIAL COPY 25 RS BR 2063 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 3/25/2025 10:20 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of the life of 1 Alicia Short McKenzie. 2 WHEREAS, Alicia Short McKenzie was born in Paintsville on December 27, 1966, 3 to Homer Short and Mary Katherine McKenzie Short; and 4 WHEREAS, Alicia McKenzie was a devout and dedicated member of the 5 Paintsville Church of Christ for many years; and 6 WHEREAS, Alicia McKenzie was known throughout her community for her 7 humility, ceaseless smile, and never-ending kindness; and 8 WHEREAS, Alicia McKenzie will be remembered for an enduring legacy of love 9 and compassion by everyone who knew her; and 10 WHEREAS, Alicia McKenzie died peacefully on March 3, 2025, at Nortons 11 Women's and Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky; and 12 WHEREAS, Alicia McKenzie was preceded in death by her parents and her 13 brother, Gary Short; and 14 WHEREAS, Alicia McKenzie leaves behind her beloved husband of 33 years, 15 Johnson County Judge/Executive Mark McKenzie; daughter, Mary Ellen McKenzie; son, 16 Bobby (Kendra) McKenzie; grandchild, Zeke McKenzie; brother, Matt Short; sisters, 17 Linda (Edward) Brady, Paula (David) Wright, and Jodi (Dean Preston) Short; mother-in-18 law, Ruth McKenzie (Ralph) Haunhorst; sister-in-law, Mary (Gary) Jennings; and many 19 nieces and nephews; and 20 WHEREAS, with great sadness, we acknowledge the passing of Alicia Short 21 McKenzie who will be remembered and tremendously missed by her family, her friends, 22 the Paintsville community, and all those who were touched by her presence; 23 NOW, THEREFORE, 24 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 25 Kentucky: 26 Section 1.
