UNOFFICIAL COPY 25 RS BR 2059 Page 1 of 1 XXXX 3/20/2025 3:38 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Dana Jean 1 Combs Batten. 2 WHEREAS, Dana Jean Combs Batten was born October 7, 1956, in Pikeville, 3 Kentucky, to the late Justice Dan Jack Combs and Mary Jane May Combs; and 4 WHEREAS, Dana Batten was crowned Miss Pikeville High School in 1974; and 5 WHEREAS, Dana Batten co-owned two businesses, Classic Collections and Kids 6 Kloset; and 7 WHEREAS, Dana Batten belonged to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ 8 in Pikeville; and 9 WHEREAS, Dana Batten is survived by her husband, Bruce Batten; two sons, 10 Bruce Clark (Katie) Batten II and Noah Brandon (Mollie) Batten; six grandchildren, 11 Amelia Batten, Colin Batten, Caleb Batten, Austin Batten, Emily Hall, and Jake Hall; and 12 one sister, Karen Petry; and 13 WHEREAS, Dana Batten will forever be missed by her family, friends, and 14 community; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, 16 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 17 Kentucky: 18 Section 1. The Senate extends its deepest sympathy upon the passing of Dana 19 Jean Combs Batten, and expresses heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and 20 community. 21 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 22 memory of Dana Jean Combs Batten. 23 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 24 Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery. 25
