UNOFFICIAL COPY 25 RS BR 2064 Page 1 of 1 XXXX 3/20/2025 1:38 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Dr. John 1 Henderson Scott, III. 2 WHEREAS, Dr. John Henderson Scott, III, was born at Pikeville Medical Center 3 on August 15, 1944; and 4 WHEREAS, Dr. Scott received his Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky 5 University and graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Medicine; and 6 WHEREAS, Dr. Scott practiced medicine for more than 30 years and was one of 7 just a few urologists practicing in eastern Kentucky; and 8 WHEREAS, a cattle and horse enthusiast, Dr. Scott bred and owned Thoroughbreds 9 on his horse farm, Second Chance Farm, in Waco, Kentucky; and 10 WHEREAS, Dr. Scott was a member of the First Christian Church of Pikeville; and 11 WHEREAS, Dr. Scott leaves behind two beloved sons of whom he was 12 tremendously proud, Nolan Weddington Scott and Patton Brown Scott; one brother, 13 William Thompson "Will T." Scott; three nephews, Nelson Robert Scott, Andrew 14 Henderson Scott, and John Weddington Scott; four great-nephews, Nathaniel Chase 15 Scott, William Aaron Scott, Caleb Weddington Scott, Logan Elias Henderson Scott; one 16 great-niece, Cora Bea Scott; and numerous other family members and friends; 17 NOW, THEREFORE, 18 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 19 Kentucky: 20 Section 1. The Senate hereby expresses its most profound sympathy upon the 21 passing of Dr. John Henderson Scott, III. 22 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 23 memory of Dr. John Henderson Scott, III. 24 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 25 Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 26
