A RESOLUTION confirming the reappointment of Lu Settles Young to the 1
Kentucky Board of Education. 2
WHEREAS, on August 6, 2024, in accordance with KRS 156.029 and by virtue of 3
Executive Order 2024-531, Governor Andy Beshear reappointed Lu Settles Young to the 4
Kentucky Board of Education for a term expiring April 14, 2028; and 5
WHEREAS, the reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation; and 6
WHEREAS, Lu Settles Young has been determined to meet the requirements of 7
KRS 156.029; 8
NOW, THEREFORE, 9
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 10
Kentucky: 11
Section 1. The Senate hereby confirms the reappointment of Lu Settles Young 12
to the Kentucky Board of Education. 13
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate shall forward a copy of this Resolution and 14
notification of its adoption to Lu Settles Young of Nicholasville, Jessamine County, 15
Kentucky, and to Governor Andy Beshear, State Capitol, Room 100, Frankfort, Kentucky 16
