UNOFFICIAL COPY 25 RS BR 1695 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 2/16/2025 1:14 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION honoring Nolan Group Media on the occasion of its 100th year in 1 business. 2 WHEREAS, an aspect of the "American Dream" is to have a successful business, as 3 millions of Americans have realized powering the juggernaut that is the American 4 economy, and more specifically, the American business landscape; and 5 WHEREAS, while the loam in which businesses are planted in America is rich, not 6 all businesses thrive and produce the fruits of success; and 7 WHEREAS, in 1925, a century ago as of this year, James Frank Nolan, a Clay 8 County native, turned adversity into enterprise and embarked on a career that would lead 9 to Nolan Group Media, a constellation of newspapers and related businesses dedicated to 10 serving their communities with accuracy and integrity; and 11 WHEREAS, James Frank Nolan passed the thriving business to his son, James 12 Frank Nolan, Jr., who guided Nolan Group Media through 30 successful years until he 13 passed the business on to his son, James F. Nolan III, who presently leads the business 14 with a skillful hand; and 15 WHEREAS, it is well-known that Nolan Group Media is dedicated to making a 16 positive impact on Eastern Kentucky through employing the citizens of the area and 17 reporting on issues important to the citizenry; and 18 WHEREAS, James F. Nolan III places exceptional value on his papers' subscribers 19 and advertisers, as through their support the newspapers can assist in preserving 20 democracy through printing news stories in the most accurate, accountable, and 21 professional manner possible; 22 NOW, THEREFORE, 23 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 24 Kentucky: 25 Section 1. This august body recognizes and congratulates Nolan Group Media, 26 and its chairman and CEO, James F.
