A RESOLUTION recognizing the outstanding achievements of the Highlands High 1
School varsity dance team at the National Dance Alliance High School Nationals. 2
WHEREAS, the varsity dance team of Highlands High School has shown a 3
dedication to excellence and consistently performed at an exceptional level; and 4
WHEREAS, the Bluebirds' commitment to teamwork, discipline, and athleticism 5
has made them a source of pride for their community and their school; and 6
WHEREAS, the members of the Highlands High School varsity dance team are 7
Drew Ellison, Sarah Steiden, Rose Ewald, Adalynne Shaw, Cate Fischer, Annie 8
Kuhnhein, Meredith Kleier, Saryn Stepner, Brianna Horner, Abbie Rowland, Elise 9
Hellmann, Shelby Shields, Morgan Herald, Ella Cunningham, Addy Orme, and Reese 10
Witte. The team is led by head coach Ashley Wrobleski and assistant coaches Molly 11
Ferring and Lauren Arnold; and 12
WHEREAS, after earning Kentucky High School Athletic Association state 13
championships on December 15, 2024 in both the Pom and Hip-Hop categories, the 14
Bluebirds set their sights on nationals; and 15
WHEREAS, on February 14 to 16, 2025, the Highlands High School varsity dance 16
team traveled to Orlando, Florida, to compete at the National Dance Alliance High 17
School Nationals; and 18
WHEREAS, their Large Varsity-Hip-Hop performance saw Highlands High School 19
ranked first during the semifinal round. They went on to earn the second-highest score in 20
the finals, missing out on the national championship by less than one-half of one point; 21
and 22
WHEREAS, the Bluebirds' Medium Varsity-Pom performance earned them an 23
automatic qualification into the finals from the preliminary round, where they were 24
named national champions in their division; 25

Section 1. The Senate does hereby congratulate and honor the Highlands High 2
School varsity dance team on their outstanding achievements at the National Dance 3
Alliance High School Nationals. 4
Section 2. The members of the Senate commend the leadership of Ashley 5
Wrobleski, Molly Ferring, and Lauren Arnold and celebrate the members of the 6
Highlands High School varsity dance team. 7
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 8
Resolution to Senator Shelley Funke Frommeyer for presentation to the Highlands High 9
School varsity dance team. 10
