AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 13:5101(B) and to enact R.S. 13:5106(F), relative to suits against2
the state; to provide for applicability; to provide for limitations; and to provide for3
related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 13:5101(B) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S. 13:5106(F)6
is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
§5101. Title and application8

B. This Part applies to any suit in contract or for injury to person or property10
against the state, a state agency, an officer or employee of the state or a state agency11
arising out of the discharge of his official duties or within the course and scope of12
his employment, or a political subdivision of the state, as defined herein, or against13
an officer or employee of a political subdivision arising out of the discharge of his14
official duties or within the course and scope of his employment. The provisions of15
this Part shall not supersede the provisions of R.S. 15:1171 et seq. or R.S. 15:118116
et seq. Nothing in this Part shall apply to claims covered by R.S. 40:1299.39.17
