[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] Norton HB No. 1014 Abstract: Removes funding restrictions relative to required planning time for teachers. Present law requires the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education to adopt rules and regulations to require each school board to provide teachers with at least 45 minutes of daily planning time during the school day and at least 30 minutes of lunch time. Provides, however, that the availability of state funding for such purpose is a condition for the effectiveness of present law. Proposed law removes the funding requirement of present law. Effective July 1, 2010. (Amends R.S. 17:434(A))
