JUVENILES: Provides relative to juvenile detention standards
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 15:1110(A)(8) and to enact R.S. 15:1110(A)(19) and (20),2
relative to juvenile detention; to provide relative to juvenile justice facilities and3
procedures; to provide with respect to licensing standards; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 15:1110(A)(8) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.7
15:1110(A)(19) and (20) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 8
ยง1110. Licensing standards9
A. The single state entity created pursuant to R.S. 46:2757 shall develop and10
recommend uniform standards and licensing procedures for local juvenile detention11
facilities. These standards should comport with nationally recognized and accepted12
standards for practice within the local juvenile detention facilities. The uniform13
standards and licensing procedures shall address, but not be limited to the following14
areas:15

(8) Access to required programs and services, including educational services,17
vocational training, and life-skills training.18

(19) Qualifications for entities providing services through cooperative1
endeavor agreements including but not limited to agreements with a department or2
agency of the state or federal government, a nonprofit organization, a public or3
private service provider, a local school, or a community-based organization.4
(20) The periodic review of juvenile detention facilities to assure compliance5
with all uniform standards and licensing procedures.6
