Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE BILL NO. 1166 BY REPRESENTATIVE HARRISON DISTRICTS/SPECIAL: Allows members of a water district board to receive per diem AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 33:4068, relative to sewage and water boards; to provide for per diem for2 board members; to require a two-thirds vote for approval relative to per diem; and3 to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 33:4068 is hereby enacted to read as follows:6 ยง4068. Per diem; number of days per diem allowed; travel expenses; salary7 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, particularly any8 special provisions in this Title relative to each sewage and water board in the state,9 the governing authority of a sewerage water district may, by a vote of two-thirds of10 the total membership of the board, fix the per diem of its members; however, the per11 diem of each member shall not exceed seventy-five dollars per day during the time12 such member is in actual attendance upon the board or performing duties authorized13 by the board. Such per diem shall be payable for thirty-six days per year. Proposed law authorizes any sewage and water boards to fix per diem if approved by 2/3 vote of the membership of the board. Proposed law provides that the per diem of each member shall not exceed $75 per day during the time such member is in actual attendance upon the board or performing duties authorized by the board. Such per diem shall be payable for 36 days per year.
