COURTS/CITY:  Provides for an additional court cost in the City Court of Bogalusa
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 13:2072.1, relative to court costs in the City Court of Bogalusa; to increase2
court costs in misdemeanor and traffic matters; to provide for the collection and use3
of the funds; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 13:2072.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง2072.1.  Bogalusa; court costs7
A. The city prosecutor shall be entitled to court costs assessed against every8
defendant who is convicted after trial or after he pleads guilty to a traffic violation9
or misdemeanor. Such court costs shall not exceed twenty-five dollars for each10
traffic violation or misdemeanor.11
B. The sums collected under Subsection A shall be remitted monthly by the12
clerk of court of the City Court of Bogalusa to the city prosecutor of the city of13
Bogalusa to be used in defraying the expenses of his office.14 HLS 10RS-920	ORIGINAL

Abstract: Provides for an additional fee, not to exceed $25, to be assessed in misdemeanor
and traffic matters in the City Court of Bogalusa to be used to defray expenses of the
city prosecutor's office.
Proposed law provides that the city prosecutor shall be entitled to court costs, not to exceed
$25, assessed against every defendant who is convicted after trial or after he pleads guilty
to a traffic violation or misdemeanor. 
Proposed law requires the sums collected to be remitted monthly by the clerk of court of the
City Court of Bogalusa to the city prosecutor of the city of Bogalusa to be used in defraying
the expenses of his office.
