ACT No. 409 Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE BILL NO. 1274 BY REPRESENTATIVE MONICA AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:414(B)(2)(b), relative to driver's license suspension; to2 provide for a restricted driver's license after a certain amount of time following3 driver's license suspension; to provide for the installment of interlock devices; and4 to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 32:414(B)(2)(b) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7 ยง414. Suspension, revocation, renewal, and cancellation of licenses; judicial review8 * * *9 B. The department shall forthwith suspend the license of any person, for a10 period of twenty-four months, upon receiving satisfactory evidence of the conviction11 or of the entry of a plea of guilty and sentence thereupon or of the forfeiture of bail12 of any such person charged with any of the following crimes:13 * * *14 (2)15 * * *16 (b) Any licensee who has had his license suspended for operating a motor17 vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages under the provisions of this18 Subsection shall be eligible to apply for a restricted driver's license after a period of19 forty-five days, upon proof that his motor vehicle has been equipped with a20 functioning ignition interlock device, be issued a restricted driver's license.
