HORTICULTURE:  Repeals certain examination requirements of retail florists
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 3:3807(A) and 3808(I)(1) and to repeal R.S. 3:3807(B)(2),2
relative to retail florists; to repeal examination requirements for retail florists; to3
repeal a prohibition against selling cut flowers within three hundred feet of the4
business of a retail florist; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 3:3807(A) and 3808(I)(1) are hereby amended and reenacted to read7
as follows: 8
§3807.  Examinations9
A. Each applicant for a professional license, except retail florists, shall10
satisfactorily pass an examination prior to being issued a license.  The commission11
shall be responsible for the preparation, administration, and grading of examinations12
for professional licenses. The commission shall review and approve all proposed13
examinations and shall determine the minimum score necessary to satisfactorily pass14
each examination.15

I. A cut flower dealer's permit authorizes the holder to do any of the19

(1) Sell cut flowers either singly or in bunches, or both.  	However, the holder1
of a cut flower permit may not sell cut flowers within three hundred feet of the place2
of business of another person engaged in the profession of retail florist.3

Section 2.  R.S. 3:3807(B)(2) is hereby repealed in its entirety.5
