PETROLEUM/OIL-GAS:  Provides for placement of warning signs on ethanol gas pumps
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 3:4676, relative to warning signs on ethanol pumps; to provide for a warning2
sign on pumps that dispense ethanol; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1. R.S. 3:4676 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5
ยง4676.  Ethanol warning sign; marine engines and lawn equipment6
Any pump which dispenses petroleum containing ethanol shall affix to that7
pump a sign containing the following: "Warning - Ethanol gas may cause damage8
to marine engines and lawn equipment." The sign shall be capitalized, in bold typed9
print of not less than fourteen-point font, and clearly, distinctly, and conspicuously10
placed where the consumer can see it.11

Abstract: Provides for a warning sign on petroleum pumps that dispense ethanol.
Proposed law requires any pump which dispenses petroleum containing ethanol to affix to
that pump a sign containing the following: "Warning - Ethanol gas may cause damage to
marine engines and lawn equipment." The sign shall be capitalized, in bold typed print of
not less than 14-point font, and clearly, distinctly, and conspicuously placed where the
consumer can see it.
