AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:9091.6(F)(3)(b), relative to the Upper Hurstville Security2
District in Orleans Parish; to provide relative to the renewal of parcel fees; to provide3
for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published5
as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of6
Louisiana.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. R.S. 33:9091.6(F)(3)(b) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as9
follows:10

F. Parcel fee.  The governing authority of the city of New Orleans is hereby13
authorized to impose and collect a parcel fee within the district subject to and in14
accordance with the provisions of this Subsection:15

(b) The fee shall expire eight years after its initial levy but may be renewed19
if approved by a majority of the registered voters of the district voting on the20
proposition at an election as provided in Subparagraph (a) of this Paragraph.  Any21
election to authorize the renewal of the fee shall be held only at the same time as the22
mayoral primary election for the city of New Orleans for that purpose in accordance23

of the fee shall be as provided in the proposition authorizing such renewal, not to1
exceed eight years.2

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not4
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature5
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If6
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become7
effective on the day following such approval.8
