AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 56:116.1(B)(3), relative to methods of taking certain birds and2
quadrupeds; to provide for prohibited equipment used to take game birds and wild3
quadrupeds; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 56:116.1(B)(3) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง116.1.  Wild birds and wild quadrupeds; times and methods of taking; penalties7

B.  No person shall do any of the following:9

(3)  Take or kill any game bird or wild quadruped with a firearm fitted with11
any device to deaden or silence the sound of the discharge thereof; or fitted with an12
infrared sight, electrically operated laser sight or except as provided in Paragraph13
(A)(8) of this Section any sighting device which projects a beam of light to the target14
or otherwise electronically illuminates the target, or device specifically designed to15
enhance vision at night; or with or by means of an automatic loading or hand16
operated repeating shotgun capable of holding more than three shells. Any shotgun17
capable of holding more than three shells shall be plugged with a one-piece filler18 ENROLLEDHB NO. 172

incapable of removal through the loading end, so as to reduce the capacity of the gun1
to not more than three shells at one loading.2
