PARISH/GOVERN AUTHORITY: Authorizes parish governing authorities to provide for
the general health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of their respective parishes
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 33:1236(66), relative to powers of parish governing authorities; to authorize2
parish governing authorities to provide for the general health, safety, and welfare of3
the citizens of their respective parishes; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 33:1236(66) is hereby enacted to read as follows:6
ยง1236. Powers of parish governing authorities7
The police juries and other parish governing authorities shall have the8
following powers:9

(66) To provide for the general health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of11
the parish.12
