Present law authorizes BESE to adopt rules necessary to implement teacher certification provisions and make further provisions relative to qualifications and requirements. Proposed law additionally authorizes the state Dept. of Education, with BESE approval, to establish and collect fees for certification services, including but not limited to the following: (1) $75 for initial teaching certificates, ancillary certificates, and vocational-technical certificates.
