MTR VEHICLE/LICEN PLATES: Creates a prestige license plate for the New Orleans
Saints
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 47:463.141, relative to motor vehicle special prestige license plates; to provide2
for the creation and issuance of such plates; to provide for the design of such plates;3
to provide relative to the fee for such plates; to authorize the promulgation of rules4
and regulations; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 47:463.141 is hereby enacted to read as follows:7
ยง463.141.  Special prestige license plate; "Who Dat Nation"8
A. The secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections shall9
establish a special prestige motor vehicle license plate to be known as the "Who Dat10
Nation" plate, provided there is a minimum of one thousand applicants for such11
plates.  These license plates shall be restricted to use on passenger cars, pickup12
trucks, recreational vehicles, and vans.13
B. The special prestige license plate shall be known as the "Who Dat Nation"14
license plate and shall bear the likeness of the Louisiana Superdome centered on15
the left side of the license plate and shall display the words "Who Dat Nation"16
centered on the bottom of the license plate.17
C. The prestige license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any citizen18
of Louisiana in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.19 HLS 10RS-444	ORIGINAL

D. The fee for the license plate shall be the standard registration license fee1
and a handling fee of three dollars and fifty cents to be retained by the department2
to offset a portion of administrative costs.3
E. The secretary shall adopt rules and regulations as are necessary to4
implement the provisions of this Section.5

Abstract:  Creates the special prestige license plate to be known as the "Who Dat Nation"
license plate. Provides for the fees, issuance, creation, and design of the license
plate.
Proposed law requires the secretary for DPS&C to issue special prestige license plates to be
known as the "Who Dat Nation" license plate. 
Proposed law provides that the prestige license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any
citizen of La. in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law provides for the design of the "Who Dat Nation" license plate. The  plate shall
bear the likeness of the La. Superdome centered on the left side of the license plate and shall
display the words "Who Dat Nation" centered on the bottom of the license plate.
Proposed law provides that the fee for the license plate shall be the standard registration
license fee and a handling fee of $3.50 to be retained by the department to offset a portion
of administrative costs.
Proposed law provides that the secretary shall adopt rules and regulations to implement the
provisions provided in proposed law.
