AN ACT1
To authorize and provide for the transfer or lease of certain state property in Iberville Parish2
to Savoie Industries, L.L.C., from the division of administration; and to provide for3
related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. The commissioner of the division of administration, notwithstanding any6
other provision of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey,7
transfer, assign, lease, excluding mineral rights, and deliver any interest the state may have8
to the following described property to Savoie Industries, L.L.C.:9
Certain tracts of land being located in the Parish of Iberville in Sections 34 & 35 of10
T11S, R13E and in Section 22 of T12S, R13E and being described as follows:11
Tract of Pedro Sanchez, 61.38 acres, being Lots 7 and 8 of Section 34, T11S, R13E,12
Iberville Parish; and Lot 8 of Section 35,T11S, R13E, and a tract in Section 22,13
T-12-S, R-13-E, Iberville Parish. The above tracts being bound North, South, East14
and West by property or Savoie Industries, L.L.C. and contains approximately15
163.00 acres more or less.16
Mineral Reservation: The mineral rights are herein reserved unto The Dow Chemical17
Company its heirs, successors and assigns, under the same terms and conditions as18
provided in that certain act duly recorded at COB 327 under Entry No. 189 in the19
Conveyance records for the Parish of Iberville.20
Acquisition: It being the same property acquired by the State of Louisiana from the21
Dow Chemical Company on December 9, 1981 and duly recorded at COB 327 under22
Entry No, 189 in the Conveyance records for the Parish of Iberville. It further being23
the same properties acquired by Dow Chemical Company from Schwing Lumber and24
Shingle Company, Incorporated by an Act dated December 27, 1956 and duly25
recorded at COB 135 under Entry No. 112 in the Conveyance records for the Parish26
of Iberville. With said Act Subject to an Act of Correction filed at COB 150 under27
Entry No. 373-A in the Conveyance records for the Parish of Iberville.28
Section 2. The commissioner of the division of administration, on behalf of the state29
of Louisiana, is hereby authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and30
stipulations and to execute such documents as are necessary to properly effectuate any31
conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the32 ENROLLEDHB NO. 703

property described in Section 1 herein, and as more specifically described in any such1
agreements entered into and documents executed by and between the commissioner of the2
division of administration and Savoie Industries, L.L.C., in exchange of consideration3
proportionate to the appraised value of the property.4
Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not5
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature6
by the governor, as provided in Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If7
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become8
effective on the day following such approval.9
