BY REPRESENTATIVES SAM JONES AND MILLS AND SENATOR HEBERT
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 56:796(A) and (B)(1), relative to the Lake Fausse Point and2
Grand Avoille Cove Advisory Board; to provide relative to membership of the board;3
to provide with respect to jurisdiction over Lake Dauterive; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 56:796(A) and (B)(1) are hereby amended and reenacted to read as7
follows: 8
ยง796. Lake Fausse Point, Lake Dauterive, and Grand Avoille Cove Advisory Board9
A. The Lake Fausse Point, Lake Dauterive, and Grand Avoille Cove10
Advisory Board, hereafter in this Section referred to as the board, is hereby created11
to advise the secretary on matters pertaining to the preservation of the Lake Fausse12
Point, Lake Dauterive, and Grand Avoille Cove area and to the development of13
recreational opportunities in the area.14
B.(1)  The commission is comprised as follows:15
(a) The member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing16
House District Number 49 or his designee.17
(b) The member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing18
House District Number 50 or his designee.19
(c)  The member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing20
House District Number 46 or his designee.21
(c) (d) The member of the Louisiana Senate representing Senate District22

(d) (e) The member of the Louisiana Senate representing Senate District1
Number 22 or his designee.2
(e) (f) Two members of the Chitimacha Tribe appointed by the governing3
authority of the tribe.4
(f) (g) One member appointed by the mayor of Baldwin subject to5
confirmation by the governing authority of Baldwin.6
(g) (h) One member appointed by the mayor of Jeanerette subject to7
confirmation by the governing authority of Jeanerette.8
(h) (i) The member of the St. Mary Parish governing authority representing9
Council District Number 1 or his designee.10
(i) (j) The member of the Iberia Parish governing authority representing11
Council District Number 11 or his designee.12
(k) The member of the St. Martin Parish governing authority representing13
Council District Number 1 or his designee.14
(j) (l) The Eagle Point Park Committee shall appoint two of its members to15
serve on the board.16
(k) (m) The members of the Legislature of Louisiana referenced in17
Subparagraphs (a) through (d) (e) of this Paragraph shall collectively appoint one18
licensed commercial fisherman.19
(l) (n) The members of the Legislature of Louisiana referenced in20
Subparagraphs (a) through (d) (e) of this Subsection shall appoint one member from21
a list of three nominations submitted by the local chapter of Ducks Unlimited.22
(m) (o) The governing authority of the St. Mary Parish Consolidated Water23
and Sewer District of Charenton shall appoint one of its members to serve on the24
board.25
(n) (p) The lieutenant governor, the secretary of the Department of Wildlife26
and Fisheries,  and the secretary of the Department of Natural Resources may each27
designate an individual to serve as a nonvoting member of the board.28 ENROLLEDHB NO. 81

(q) The parish presidents for Iberia Parish, St. Martin Parish, and St. Mary1
Parish, shall serve as ex officio nonvoting members of the board or may designate2
a person to serve in their stead.3
