[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] Robideaux HB No. 968 Abstract: Clarifies that school buses used for transporting persons for any purpose are not included in the definition of motor vehicles that are required to have children under 13 years of age properly secured. Present law requires a driver of a motor vehicle to properly secure children under 13 years of age in a motor vehicle. Present law states that "motor vehicle" does not mean certain school buses. Proposed law retains present law and states that certain school buses used for any purpose are not deemed "motor vehicles" for purposes of the requirement of having children under the age of 13 properly secured in a motor vehicle.
