HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 113
BY REPRESENTATIVE EDWARDS
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the members of the United States Army War College participating in the
Eisenhower Series College Program and to welcome them to Louisiana in April
2010.
WHEREAS, upon the memorable and historic occasion of their visit to the state of
Louisiana, it is appropriate to commend and honor those from the United States Army War
College participating in the Eisenhower Series College Program; and
WHEREAS, the United States Army War College, located in Carlisle Barracks,
Pennsylvania, represents the highest level of education offered by the military services and
is designed to equip carefully selected senior officers and civilians with the competencies
required of strategic leaders of the United States Armed Forces; and
WHEREAS, more than three hundred students, including senior officers from all
branches of the Armed Forces, senior civilian representatives from a variety of United States
government agencies, and senior military officers from approximately forty foreign
countries, attend a ten-month graduate-level course of study; and 
WHEREAS, United States Army War College students examine national security
issues and strategy development, regional affairs, current and future challenges for national
defense, and the responsibilities of senior-level command, and students who successfully
complete all the requisite requirements established by the Army War College for granting
a degree are awarded the Master of Strategic Studies degree; and
WHEREAS, annually, ten to twelve students at the United States Army War College
participate in the Eisenhower Series College Program and travel outside Carlisle Barracks
to engage in discussions with other students, academics, and the public about national
security issues and the employment of military assets; and ENROLLEDHCR NO. 113

WHEREAS, for academic year 2010, participants in the Eisenhower Series College
Program include Captain William G. Davis, Navy, director; Lieutenant Colonel David G.
Bolgiano, Air Force, faculty instructor; and the following panel members: Colonel Donald
E. Degidio, Jr., Army; Colonel Eric T. Judkins, Army; Colonel Jay R. Macklin, Army;
Colonel Jeff Marlette, Army National Guard; Lieutenant Colonel Shaun McGrath, Air Force;
Colonel Burl W. Randolph, Jr., Army; Lieutenant Colonel Alan F. Rebholz, Air Force;
Commander Tim E. Riegle, Navy; Mr. J. Michael Sawyers, Army; Colonel Irving Smith III,
Army; Colonel Steven Watt, Army; and Colonel Aaron A. Webster, Army; and
WHEREAS, in April of 2010, Eisenhower Series College Program participants are
visiting the Southeastern Louisiana University, the University of New Orleans, and the
National World War II Museum in New Orleans; and
WHEREAS, their actions and commitment uphold the highest traditions of the
United States Armed Forces, and they bring tremendous pride to their families, their fellow
citizens, and the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, these individuals merit a special measure of commendation as they are
welcomed with the utmost admiration and respect to the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend members of the United States Army War College participating in the Eisenhower
Series College Program for their outstanding accomplishments, does hereby recognize and
record for posterity their vital contributions and their tireless dedication to military
excellence, does hereby express enduring appreciation for the tremendous honor they bring
to the citizens of Louisiana upon their visit, does hereby sincerely welcome them to
Louisiana, and does hereby extend to them best wishes for continued success in all of their
future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the director of the Eisenhower Series College Program.
