HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 14
BY REPRESENTATIVE HAZEL
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Elva Marie Lacombe of Marksville upon the celebration of her ninetieth
birthday.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend and congratulate Elva Marie Lacombe
upon the memorable and historic occasion of her ninetieth birthday and to recognize her for
her lifetime of commitment and devotion to her family and friends; and 
WHEREAS, Elva Marie Lacombe was born on April 2, 1920, and is a lifelong
resident of Rapides Parish; and
WHEREAS, Elva Marie Lacombe is the loving mother of seven children and has
twenty-five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Elva Marie Lacombe is celebrating her ninetieth birthday with family
and friends on April 2, 2010; and 
WHEREAS, for ninety years, Elva Marie Lacombe has distinguished herself as an
exemplary and highly admired citizen of Louisiana; and 
WHEREAS, the fellow citizens of Elva Marie Lacombe hope that she is aware of
how much pride and joy her long and wonderful life has brought to them; and
WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,
and the overall vitality of American society depend in great measure upon people like Elva
Marie Lacombe, an exceptional woman and an inspiration to all; and
WHEREAS, Elva Marie Lacombe merits a special measure of commendation for the
tremendous pride and honor that she brings to the city of Marksville, to the state of
Louisiana, and to all who know and love her.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Elva Marie Lacombe upon the celebration of her ninetieth birthday because she
exemplifies all that is good about Louisiana, does hereby recognize and record for posterity ENROLLEDHCR NO. 14

the extraordinary life she has lived in the nine decades since her birth, does hereby express
enduring gratitude for the singular contributions she has made to her family, friends,
community, and state, and does hereby extend to her every good wish for health and
happiness in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Elva Marie Lacombe.
