SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes May 11, 2010, as La. Society of Professional
Surveyors Day at the Capitol
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To recognize Tuesday, May 11, 2010, as Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors Day2
at the Louisiana State Capitol and to commend the society's members.3
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors is celebrating its one4
hundred one year of professional surveyor licensing, having first issued licenses in 1908 to5
J.B. Bice, C.P. Couvillion, and R.A. Crowson; and6
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors follow rules of professional conduct in7
order to safeguard life, health, and property and promote the public welfare; and8
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors establish and maintain a high standard9
of integrity in the performance of their professional duties; and10
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors are committed to maintaining the11
highest levels of professional quality and to keeping abreast of the most advanced12
technology in their field; and13
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors utilize global positioning, mapping, and14
spatial referencing as they seek to ensure that they provide state-of-the-art surveying services15
to the citizens of Louisiana; and16
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors merits a special17
measure of commendation for its unwavering commitment to excellence.18
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby19
recognize Tuesday, May 11, 2010, as Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors Day at20 HLS 10RS-3860 ORIGINAL

the Louisiana State Capitol and does hereby commend the society's members for their1
significant contributions to the citizens of Louisiana since licenses were first issued in 1908.2
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted3
to the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors.4
