A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To recognize Tuesday, May 11, 2010, as Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors Day
at the Louisiana State Capitol and to commend the society's members.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors is celebrating its one
hundred one year of professional surveyor licensing, having first issued licenses in 1908 to
J.B. Bice, C.P. Couvillion, and R.A. Crowson; and
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors follow rules of professional conduct in
order to safeguard life, health, and property and promote the public welfare; and
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors establish and maintain a high standard
of integrity in the performance of their professional duties; and
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors are committed to maintaining the
highest levels of professional quality and to keeping abreast of the most advanced
technology in their field; and
WHEREAS, licensed professional surveyors utilize global positioning, mapping, and
spatial referencing as they seek to ensure that they provide state-of-the-art surveying services
to the citizens of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors merits a special
measure of commendation for its unwavering commitment to excellence.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
recognize Tuesday, May 11, 2010, as Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors Day at
the Louisiana State Capitol and does hereby commend the society's members for their
significant contributions to the citizens of Louisiana since licenses were first issued in 1908. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 156

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors.
