HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 85
BY REPRESENTATIVE BURFORD AND SENATOR CHEEK
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Justin McClain Bloxom of
Stonewall.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Legislature of Louisiana have learned of the death of Justin McClain Bloxom on Tuesday,
March 30, 2010, at the age of twelve; and
WHEREAS, Justin Bloxom was a native and citizen of Stonewall, and his death has
created a profound sense of sorrow in his community and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Justin was born on May 27, 1997, to Amy Nicole Witham and Kevin
McClain Bloxom; and
WHEREAS, Justin was on the Honor Roll and Superintendent's List at North Desoto
Middle School, where he also won first place in the science fair and was a member of the
4-H Club; and
WHEREAS, Justin was a member of the Griffin football team and enjoyed drawing,
skateboarding, karate, mud riding, jumping on the trampoline, playing the drums, and
helping Pa-Paw with his cows; and
WHEREAS, Justin was known for his kind, caring soul and was deeply beloved by
his family, friends, neighbors, classmates, and teachers; and
WHEREAS, preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Bloxom, and his
maternal great-grandfather, R.B. Cox, Justin is survived by his mother, Amy Nicole Witham
Bloxom, and her fiancé, Craig Fletcher; his father, Kevin McClain Bloxom and his wife,
Christine; four brothers, Travis Bloxom, Tyler Bloxom, Dalton Bloxom, and Collin Witham;
his maternal grandparents, Ruby Cox and Madeline and John Witham; his paternal
grandmother, Willie Bloxom; numerous extended family members; and many gracious

WHEREAS, this wonderful young man deserves honor and recognition and a sincere
measure of posthumous gratitude and admiration for the great joy that he brought the many
individuals whose lives he touched; and 
WHEREAS, the death of Justin Bloxom leaves a tremendous void in his community,
and his memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts of all who knew and loved him.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Justin McClain Bloxom of
Stonewall, does hereby recognize his outstanding achievements and singular contributions,
does hereby record for posterity his extraordinary gifts and talents, and does hereby extend
appreciation for his enduring legacy that will forever be a source of great pride for his
family, friends, and community and the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Justin Bloxom.
