HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 124

COMMENDATIONS:  Commends the Gillyard, Johnson, and Mahoney families upon their
2010 family reunion
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Gillyard, Johnson, and Mahoney families on the memorable and historic2
occasion of their family reunion, August 6 through 8, 2010.3
WHEREAS, in August of 2010, the Gillyard, Johnson, and Mahoney families are4
assembling to celebrate their history and the unwavering unity that they have demonstrated5
for generations; and6
WHEREAS, the Gillyard, Johnson, and Mahoney ancestors were lifelong residents7
of DeSoto and Caddo parishes, and today's Gillyards, Johnsons, and Mahoneys take great8
pride in their ancestral origin; and9
WHEREAS, the Gillyard, Johnson, and Mahoney families are great Louisiana10
families with a rich heritage whose members throughout the years have been vibrant and11
beloved members of Louisiana communities; and12
WHEREAS, the remarkable individuals gathering for this unforgettable occasion13
merit a special measure of commendation for the tremendous honor that they bring to14
DeSoto and Caddo parishes and to the state of Louisiana.15
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the16
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Gillyard, Johnson, and Mahoney families17
upon the occasion of their family reunion, August 6 through 8, 2010, does hereby express18
sincere appreciation and gratitude to these wonderful people for their outstanding19
achievements and singular contributions, and does hereby extend best wishes for continued20 HLS 10RS-4983	ORIGINAL

success and happiness as they convene for this extraordinary event to celebrate their unique1
spirit of family, love, unity, and pride.2
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Betty3
Gillyard Griggs.4
