ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 55 BY REPRESENTATIVE MORRIS A RESOLUTION To commend William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke Allen upon the celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. WHEREAS, William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke Allen were married on April 29, 1960, by Pastor Marr at Northwood Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen lived in Shreveport for a few months after their marriage until the couple moved to Natchitoches, where Mr. Allen attended college at Northwestern State University and graduated in 1962; and WHEREAS, during the summers, Mr. Allen worked for his father in the oil and gas business; and WHEREAS, after college, Mr. Allen went to work for his father full time at W.C. Allen Oil and Gas Company, and the couple lived in Oil City, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, after his father's death in 1997, Mr. Allen became part owner of W.C. Allen Oil and Gas Company with his brothers; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Allen worked as a beautician for several years and dedicated many years to the raising of four wonderful children; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen are loving and proud parents and grandparents to their four children, William Calvin Allen IV, who passed away in 1999, Angie Allen Rossett, Roysan Allen Rotman, and Mende Allen Chance, and their nine grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen currently reside in Blanchard, Louisiana, and the couple celebrated their fiftieth anniversary on Thursday, April 29, 2010, with family and friends; and WHEREAS, the Allens' dedication to each other and to their family is an example of lifelong love and commitment, and their anniversary is a joyous and memorable occasion that merits sincere congratulations. ENROLLEDHR NO. 55 Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke Allen upon the joyful and memorable occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, does hereby recognize and record for posterity the beautiful example of dedication and love that they have provided to their family and community, and does hereby extend best wishes for their continued happiness as they enjoy their future years together.
