HOUSE/RULES: Provides with respect to the adoption of certain resolutions
A RESOLUTION1
To adopt House Rule 10.10 of the Rules of Order of the House of Representatives to provide2
that no concurrent resolution nor any resolution amending the House Rules shall be3
adopted except by roll call vote.4
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana5
that House Rule 10.10 of the Rules of Order of the House of Representatives is hereby6
adopted to read as follows:7
Rule 10.10. Adoption of resolutions; roll call vote8
No concurrent resolution nor any resolution amending the House Rules shall9
be adopted except by roll call vote.10

Present House Rules (Rules 4.3 and 4.4) provide that a quorum (defined as a majority of the
elected members of the House) is required to transact business.

Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on House and Governmental
Affairs to the original resolution.
1. Removes provisions of proposed House Rule regarding the number of votes
required for passage of a concurrent resolution or a resolution amending the
House Rules and provides instead that no such resolution shall be adopted except
by roll call vote.
