HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 85
BY REPRESENTATIVE BALDONE
A RESOLUTION
To commend the E.D. White Catholic High School girls swim team upon winning the 2010
Division III state championship.
WHEREAS, the E.D. White Catholic High School girls swim team completed a
sensational season, earning the title of 2010 Division III state champions after scoring 381
points at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association state swim meet; and
WHEREAS, the championship win was the first state swimming championship for
the Lady Cardinals and the culmination of another unforgettable season; and
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence
throughout the season, and each of these great Lady Cardinals deserves recognition for her
vital contributions to the winning effort; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Cardinals had four first place finishes: the 200-yard medley
relay, the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard freestyle relay; and
WHEREAS, top finishers for the Lady Cardinals included Michelle Gaubert, Sydney
Amedee, Lauren Becnel, Alexandra Caillouet, Julie Lefort, Victoria Roy, Gabrielle Naquin,
Emily Sauce, Cindi Mahler, Hayley Maggio, March Sauce, and Eleanor Pugh; and
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without the guidance and skills of head coach Charlotte Smith as well as all of the other
individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's swimming program; and
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2010 season upholds the glorious tradition of the
Lady Cardinals, and all E.D. White Catholic High School alumni and fans recognize the
immense pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and
state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the E.D. White Catholic High School girls ENROLLEDHR NO. 85

swim team upon winning the 2010 Division III state championship and does hereby extend
best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine swimming program
as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Coach Charlotte Smith.
