ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 89 BY REPRESENTATIVE HARDY A RESOLUTION To commend the Northside High School boys and girls track and field teams for winning the 2010 Class 4A state championship. WHEREAS, the Northside High School boys and girls track and field teams completed a sensational season, earning the title of 2010 Class 4A state champions after the boys team scored 88 points and girls team scored 74 points at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association/State Farm track and field meet; and WHEREAS, the championship wins were the second consecutive state track and field championships for the boys and girls teams and the culmination of another unforgettable season; and WHEREAS, the members of the teams performed at the highest level of excellence throughout the 2010 track and field season, and all of these great Vikings deserve recognition for their vital contributions to the winning effort; and WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved without the guidance and skills of Northside girls coach, Tawana Williams, and boys coach, Randell Francois, as well as all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's track and field programs; and WHEREAS, the teams' outstanding 2010 season upholds the glorious tradition of the Vikings, and all Northside High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished honor that the teams bring to their school, community, and state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Northside High School boys and girls track and field teams for winning the 2010 Class 4A state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the athletes, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine track and field program as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
