TOURISM.  Changes the name of certain tourist commissions. (gov sig)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 33:4574.18, relative to tourist commissions; to provide for the designation and2
name of certain commissions; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1.  R.S. 33:4574.18 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5
ยง4574.18.  Tourist commissions of certain parishes; designation6
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, any tourist7
commission created pursuant to R.S. 33:4574 in a parish having a population8
of not less than one hundred thousand but not more than one hundred four9
thousand, based on the latest federal decennial census, and notwithstanding any10
other designation provided in R.S. 33:4574, the commission shall be designated11
as, and be known by, the name of the parish followed by "_______ Parish12
Tourist Commission."13
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not14
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature15
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If16
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become17 SB NO. 231

effective on the day following such approval.1

Proposed law provides for the designation and name of the parish tourist commission in
parishes having a population in excess of 100,00 but not more than 104,000 based on the
latest federal decennial census.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
