GERMAIN AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 47:463.141, relative to motor vehicle special prestige license plates; to provide2 for the creation and issuance of such plates; to provide for the design of such plates;3 to provide relative to the annual fee and disposition of such fee for such plates; to4 provide for the promulgation of rules and regulations; and to provide for related5 matters.6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.141 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง463.141. Special prestige license plate; Relay For Life9 A. The secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections10 shall establish a special prestige motor vehicle license plate to be known as the11 "Relay For Life" plate. These license plates shall be restricted to use on12 passenger cars, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, and vans.13 B. The prestige license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any14 citizen of Louisiana, in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license15 plate.16 C. The secretary shall design the plates, which shall bear the official17 emblem of the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division's "Relay For18 Life". The license plate shall be designed in consultation with the American19 Cancer Society, Mid-South Division.20 D. The charge for this special license plate shall be the standard motor21 vehicle license tax imposed by Article VII, Section 5 of the Constitution of22 ACT No. 20 SB NO. 251 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions. Louisiana, plus an annual fee of twenty-five dollars for each plate, and a1 handling fee of three dollars and fifty cents to be retained by the department to2 offset a portion of administrative cost.3 E. The annual fee shall be collected by the department and forwarded to4 the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division. The money received from5 the annual fee shall be used solely by the American Cancer Society, Mid-South6 Division's mission delivery programs within the state of Louisiana.7 F.
