Provides for an automobile allowance for the clerk of the district court in St. Tammany Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, and Washington Parish. (8/15/10) AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 13:783(D)(7), relative to certain elected officials in St. Tammany2 Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, and Washington Parish; to provide an automobile3 expense allowance for the clerk of the district court; and to provide for related4 matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 13:783(D)(7) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7 ยง783. DIGEST Nevers (SB 260) Present law provides that in Acadia Parish and Iberia Parish, the clerks of the district courts of those parishes may receive an automobile expense allowance equal to 15% of their annual salary provided the clerk of court maintains three hundred thousand dollars of automobile insurance per accident for bodily injury and one hundred thousand dollars of automobile insurance per accident for property damage. The expense allowance shall come from surplus funds in each of the offices of the clerks of court and at no additional expense to the state or local governing authority. Proposed law retains present law and adds Washington Parish to the list of parishes which may receive an automobile expense allowance. Effective August 15, 2010.
