AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 13:783(D)(7), relative to certain elected officials in St. Tammany2
Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, and Washington Parish; to provide an automobile3
expense allowance for the clerk of the district court; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 13:783(D)(7) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7

(7) In Acadia Parish, and Iberia Parish, St. Tammany Parish, Tangipahoa12
Parish, and Washington Parish, the clerks of the district courts of those parishes13
may receive an automobile expense allowance equal to fifteen percent of their annual14
salary provided the clerk of court maintains three hundred thousand dollars of15
automobile insurance per accident for bodily injury and one hundred thousand16
dollars of automobile insurance per accident for property damage. The expense17
allowance shall come from surplus funds in each of the offices of the clerks of court18
and at no additional expense to the state or local governing authority.19
