DIGEST
Present law provides that the parcel fee shall expire on December 31, 2010, but may be
renewed as provided in present law. Any election to authorize renewal of the fee shall be
held only at the same time as the mayoral primary election. If the fee is renewed, the term
of the imposition of the fee shall be as provided in the proposition authorizing such renewal,
not to exceed four years.
Proposed law retains present law but changes the election that would authorize the renewal
of the parcel fee from the mayoral primary to any regularly scheduled election in the city of
New Orleans.
