CAPITAL OUTLAY. Repeals provision authorizing late approval of certain capital outlay

AN ACT1
To repeal R.S. 39:112(C)(1)(c), relative to approval of certain capital outlay budget requests2
by the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay; and to provide for related3
matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 39:112(C)(1)(c) is hereby repealed. 6

Present law authorizes capital outlay budget requests submitted after November 1
st
to be
included in the capital outlay bill if any of the following conditions have been met:
1. The project is an economic development project recommended in writing by the
secretary of the Department of Economic Development.
2. The project is an emergency project recommended in writing by the commissioner
of administration.
3. The project of a non-state entity with a total project cost of less than $1 million is
approved by the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay by the first day of

Proposed law deletes the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay's authority to give
approval to capital outlay budget requests of non-state entities after the November 1st
deadline.
Effective August 15, 2010.
