AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 49:222(B)(12), relative to fees chargeable by secretary of state;2
to provide with respect to special fees; to provide with respect to requests for3
information which require a written response; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 49:222(B)(12) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6

B.  The secretary of state is authorized to collect the following fees:9

(12) Special fees. (a) Requests for information, including without limitation11
requests for a correct corporate name, agent for service of process, and officer's12
names, which require a written response, shall be answered by mailing a letter listing13
the information. There shall be a one dollar processing fee for each corporate,14
partnership, limited liability company, or trade name letter.15
(b) There shall be a fifty dollar fee for expedited "while you wait" service.16
(c) (b)There shall be a thirty dollar fee for expedited twenty-four-hour service.17
(d) (c)There shall be a twenty-five dollar fee for receipt of service of process or other18
instruments.19
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not20
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature21
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If22

vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become1
effective on the day following such approval.2
