Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 411 BY SENATOR CHAISSON AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 48:36, relative to the Department of Transportation and Development; to2 provide for topographic mapping responsibilities; to authorize the department to3 develop and maintain a statewide digital geospatial database; to provide for the4 adoption of rules; and to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 48:36 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง36. Topographic mapping8 The department may develop and maintain a statewide digital geospatial9 database. The department shall act as authority for geographic names, set10 standards for the mapping of topographic features, and plan and manage data11 collection for incorporation into a statewide database. Rules and regulations12 shall be promulgated by the department in accordance with the Administrative13 Procedure Act as are necessary for the planning and managing of the geospatial14 data.15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not16 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature17 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
